Our Philosophy
Happy customers, a warm and inviting place to shop, a comfortable space to embrace the beauty of our bodies, and quality clothes at great prices.
Everyone is welcome at Two Big Blondes. We always look forward to meeting new customers and welcoming back our regulars. Our staff is trained to help you find the right fit for your body and the right look for a special event or everyday wear.

Our Story
Two Big Blondes first opened in Georgetown in 1997 by Judy & Winnie - the original two big blondes. The shop moved to our present location in the Central District of Seattle in 1999. Susan took over from the original owners in 2006 and in 2013 the present owner Lisa became the hostess of this beautiful community. While Two Big Blondes is now owned by one big brunette, the name was too fun to change. So now we are all big blondes!

Lisa Michaud
Two Big Blondes'* Current Owner (*not a blonde)
Lisa has been the owner of Two Big Blondes since 2013. Having grown up in the Central District, returning to Seattle in 2012 and taking over the store from her aunt Susan was a homecoming. She loves being involved with a local business that honors the history of the Central District and reuniting with old friends in the neighborhood.
Our Location's History

Original building and corner store built in 1925, with an addition built in 1959.
We are proud to call Central District our home. Since it was built in the mid 1920s, our longstanding 2501 South Jackson Street storefront has housed several neighborhood staples. Longtime Seattle locals may still remember its past life as Frank's Superette and Kitchen, a grocery store and lunch counter that served the community from 1949 until 1988. Larry's Market took over in the late 80s and 90s before the building was converted into a thrift store ran by the Chicken Soup Brigade (now Lifelong), a nonprofit that brought food and other essentials to community members living with HIV/AIDS.

Our Location Today
2501 South Jackson Street today, the home of Two Big Blondes since 1999.
As one of, if not the, oldest & largest plus-size resale stores in the country, Two Big Blondes has become an institution in the Seattle area and beyond. Two Big Blondes is much more than just a store to buy & sell used clothing. With its focus on plus-size women’s clothing, it offers a welcoming place for people who often have difficulty finding quality items in their size and style at other retail and resale stores.
Through its affiliated non-profit Seattle Women’s Assistance Fund, Two Big Blondes also provides free clothing to homeless and low-income women from the donations of the unsold items and proceeds from the bag sales.
The environmental impact of fashion has continued to increase in the past 25 years, especially as fast fashion has taken hold of fashion trends. Reusing pre-owned gently and often never used clothing decreases our carbon footprint while offering a wide range of styles & unique pieces to choose from, all while saving money over retail prices. Two Big Blondes is committed to the mission of being a sustainable business, not only through consignment but in all their business practices as an EnviroStar member.
City of Seattle's Tenant Improvement Program
In 2024 Two Big Blondes was selected by the city of Seattle to participate in the Tenant Improvement Program. The awarded funds were used for much-needed upgrades to the 20+ year old showroom, including new floors, refreshed fitting rooms, and more. Learn more about the in-store and online improvements by watching Lisa's interview above, produced by the Seattle Office of Economic Development.
